Overnight, the sunny days of our arrival have turned back to winter. Once inviting hammocks swing empty. We dream of a coffee nudge beside a cheery fire, drowsing over an essay on Jung's archetypes.
We celebrated our 30th anniversary, from when we first got married, on the 4th, on a sunny, warm day with many spring flowers and a stroll by the lake to see the first fish rising and the cormorants fishing.

Winthrop is pretty great. I have gotten a wonderful appreciation of snow this winter. These pictures remind me of a japanese sumi painting.
Sumi was good, but the best part was . . . it was all gone by afternoon and the sun came out.
