Hiked 4 1/2 hours, over 11 km (long story, some stupid choices) , to point near Milna. Nicely, I could get to the sea there. I was surprised to find some old ruins. I knew they were older than WW2 by their construction but I didn't know how old or what they were. Doing some research I discovered they were an artillery fort built by Napoleon in 1806 trying to defend the island against the Russians. He failed in a large naval battle and Brač welcomed the Russians. In fact Milna for 1-year became the capital city of the island under the Russians. The ruins were overgrown but very cool. Of course following Eliots advice I looked in all the stone wall cracks but found nothing. I needed him here!

Chicken Day 2019

Ah, little Edison is on the map now! There were hundreds of people at the annual chicken parade yesterday. 15 cars backed up trying to make it across Chuckanut Drive into Edison.
