Moon Goddess

Now I have three "Moon Goddess" paintings in work and am despairing of finishing any of them!  Too much thinking, too little painting!!!  Aarrgghh!!  I must reverse that trend. Must be the chill and rain . . .

Charles Sends: Bees in Love

LILACS

And the Lilacs were fragrant and blushing with the
Re-emergence of their life in this life
And the Bees were blushing with the fragrance
Of Their Love in this Violet life
And Nature is alive and blushing with the brilliance
Of Being in this Moment and Being with
God in the Garden on this Brilliant Day

From Marius, Nearing End of Stay in Croatia

John,
Yup! It's almost time to head for the barn. I have indeed been busy. I must have enough work stored
to have a years worth of shows . Perhaps a book? Wouldn't that be a trip?

Charles has hung a few of this summer's flowers paintings in his living room to savour for the winter. I don't think I need to editorialize here . . .

Art! Mine! Confluence!

The Morning After Art Reception

Noisy deluge all night long in Winthrop turns to clear blue sky filtered through amber aspen.  Stepping outside, you hear the river running over smooth stones and are ravished by the smell of sweet sage and pine and is that heather?

Over the mountains yet again....

Went to Impressionists at SAM today. Cezanne was pretty great and surprisingly a small painting by Toulouse-Lautrec. Others, others...I thought I would be really intimidated.....and of course in skill and technique, I could never get close to the poorest painting there....but this stuff is 150 years old, right? Came home to my studio and thought, "Now this stuff I really like."

Artist's Statement

In early August, I reported that Eason had shown a painting at the Children's Art Walk and had won an Award of Merit.
Accompanying that painting was his "Artist's Statement" which I think is one of the greatest I have seen.  (I have a lot of trouble creating these statements for my work.)  I got a copy of Eason's for that painting just tonight:

"Title:  Yellow Streak of Blue Thunder

I thought it was an alien
At first,
but it didn't turn out to be,  so I added a few more details and put some more blue on it.
It turned out to be something but I didn't know what it was."
