9 Art World Pick-Up Lines Guaranteed (NOT) To Work . . .

From artnet News (http://news.artnet.com/art-world/9-art-world-pick-up-lines-guaranteed-not-to-work-at-art-basel-miami-beach-180754)

1. "If you were words on a page, you'd be fine print."
2. "Call the Art Loss Register, 'cause you just stole my heart."
4. "If I told you your body looked like the Met's Aphrodite, would you hold it against me?"
4."You're so fine you could make an impression on Monet."
5. "Sorry for staring, I thought your face was a work of art."
6. "If I were an art critic, I'd give you a ravishing review."
7. "I'd like to add you to my itinerary…in between V, I, and P."
8. "Are you an antique collector? Because I have some junk that hasn't been touched in years."
9. "How about you and me go out by the pool and brush up on our strokes?"

(Ed:  I dunno . . . I kinda liked # 4 and 5.)

Anacortes Magazine: "Marius Hibbard Visits Croatia"

It says it here, it must be true!  I will report again after I have seen the show.  His photos should look spectacular in the large size that he prints.

Two Quotes from Tin (Just because . . .)

The realm of the spirit will never reach those who claim that all truths are already known.

Art never receives the world as we found it nor leaves it so.

A Little Day Hike Up Alger Alps to Little Baldy with Julia

Lovely afternoon.  That's the hill we are going up in the background.

A Couple of Late Photos

Slavko's finished "white and shining wall."  It's 10, maybe 12,  feet tall!
Our newly leveled patio and shiny metal downspouts
A view of our house from the neighborhood Mlin.
The sea is to the right of the picture.
(Note the hillside behind that burned a couple of years ago while
Amir, Inela and their little son Mak were staying in our house.)

Ivo's boat and newly built plaza at Bobovisca.

Here's a couple of late photos that were on my camera (rather than tablet) so I wasn't able to upload them while I was in Dalmatia.

Home

After my ferry ride, Slavko and Nada fed me (yet again!) and then drove me to my room by the airport.  Next morning I was up at 5:00 a.m and now am home safe after relatively pleasant and stress-free return flights! Julia was right on time picking me up at the Vancouver Airport in the dark and wind and rain.

Now, to bed!

At W.C. Muški -- everytime --
I trip.

All Hallows Eve -- Edison style

Lori

Best wishes to Lori for a speedy recovery from her shoulder surgery and full use of her arm.

Oy vai

So I have everything pretty much wrapped up (literally, in plastic) and am doing final chores for departure early tomorrow to mainland,  when suddenly I feel our new drain has a problem and needs some concrete work!  (Well,  actually I felt this for the last 6 weeks but somehow avoided dealing with it.) So,  tools and supplies come back out of the storage shed and I use my skills developed  by living here over the years (and largely taught by Slavko)  to do this lovely concrete work!  Note my clever use of the stone to catch down splash!   But what will it look like next year?
