Man! We gotta educate you on farm stuff! There will be removable sides on it. John put in stake pockets all along the sides that stakes slide into for rails down each side and across the back. Flatbeds are so great because they are so much easier to load stuff like hay, yard/landscape things, the square looking boxes under teh bed by the front are tool boxes for storage. It is easy to hook up to the trailer. The list goes on and on. It is also much wider and a bit longer than a regular bed so there is much more room on it. I will get pics of the rails when it is done and it will make more sense!
